The Good Vibrations Handchime Group at Bellevue Senior High School, under the direction of director David W. Strayer, is  undertaking a “Give-a-Bell” program to help raise the remaining funds to support the growing organization at the high school. As part of the “Give-a-Bell” program, the community may purchase a bell or portion of a bell. Strayer, left, is shown with Dottie and Jim Pickering, who recently made a generous donation to the program. The group would like to upgrade and expand their ringing possibilities with the purchase of three octaves of handbells, foam pads and accessories. Any donation will be gladly accepted, but beginning with any donation of $75 or more, the donor may choose to have their name inscribed in gold foil in the bell handle to be seen for many years to come. Out of the 37 bells and cases included in the three-octave set, there are only 16 bells remaining to be obtained. Prices for the remaining bells range from $191-$364, depending on the size of the casting. Please contact Strayer at 419-484-5087 with any questions or e-mail him at David.strayer@bellevue schools.org to request a donation form. Donations may be sent to: David Strayer, Bellevue High School Good Vibrations, 200 Oakland Ave., Bellevue, OH 44811. (Gazette photo by Sally Boyd)
